The first Unplugged on the Front Porch of our Fall Season will feature local folk innovator, Matt the Electrician. The songwriter, who has released a dozen or so albums over the last two decades, will join us in the All Saints' Sanctuary at 7:00 PM on the evening of Thursday, October 20th, for a dose of his thoughtful lyrics, carefully constructed melodies, whistling magic, and eclectic acoustic instrumentation. Get ready for the intimate vibe and amazing sound you've come to expect from our Unplugged series as we pair another Austin great with our gorgeous historic location: Matt the Electrician joins the ranks of Sam Baker, Mother Falcon, Eliza Gilkyson, Israel Nash, and so many partners and friends who have graced our stage with their unique voices and perspectives.
Parking, as always, will be available on a first come, first serve basis in the All Saints' parking lot. If the lot fills, we'll also be validating tickets for the parking garage located across the street, directly behind the All Saints' campus. The show lasts about two hours, and features two sets of music divided by an interview from either Front Porch director, Stephen Kinney, or another Austin music aficionado. Sometimes, there is an intermission.
Suggested donation for Unplugged on The Front Porch with Matt the Electrician will be $15 per person. Kids 15 and under are admitted for free. Those of you who know both The Front Porch and Matt can probably see why his perspective on everyday life fits in perfectly with our practical knack for naming the way in which transcendent experiences often pop up in unexpected places. We can't wait to see what emerges from what will surely be a magical evening together.
